Among fellow sculptors, we have nicknames. Mine is Michelangelo. Not because I carve in stone or am a figurative artist, but because Michelangelo was known to have a crusty disposition. He disliked pretention & large crowds and did not like being interrupted. He did not try to curry favor with perspective patrons by false flattery or modifying his work. I have been accused of having similar traits; although my lack of charm is not meant to be discourteous. I do not like to be interrupted as it breaks my focus and I do not easily change directions with a piece to suit someone else. It has been recommended that I attend Charm School - but I fear it would take a lifetime to soften the edges!
